Dear One,
In the United States, we will be celebrating our Independence Day on July 4. As you know, this was the day that Congress adopted the Declaration of Independence for the 13 colonies, in order to be free from Britain’s rule.
I believe this has great significance for us, not only as Americans who will gather on Sunday to celebrate, but also for us individually, in the recognition that we can, at any point, decide to be free. Free from fear, from dis-ease, from lack, from any belief or experience that keeps us from the total expression of the allness of Spirit.
During July, I’ll be using Raymond Charles Barker’s great book, The Power of Decision, in sharing ideas about our freedom to do, be and have. Of course, we can think and hope and plan, but we must decide before anything happens.
On July 4, we can also be free to get another hour’s sleep. Our Sunday services return to a 10 a.m. start time. I look forward to seeing you rested and refreshed.
What’s better than summer in San Diego? Despite our wonderful home, wonderful weather and wonderful oneness with Spirit, sometimes we get bogged down in complaints about traffic, family, the economy, those people, etc. My book for August will be A Complaint Free World by Will Bowen. We’ll also have those great purple bracelets available, so you can join me (if you’d like) in going 21 days “complaint free.”
We have exciting and fun special events in July and August, starting with a potluck and pool party at Cliff and Loree Oberle-Edwards’ home on July 4. (In addition to everything else, we are free to eat and have fun!)
Then we will be screening the great new movie Leap! on August 7 and 8. I know you will want to join me for this great experience. (See the Special Events page for more details on the movie.)
See you soon!
Love and Light,
Rev. Jerry Troyer
